David Taylor-Klaus, CPCC, ACC
I am driven by my passions for growth and creativity. Both my personal and professional worlds clearly reflect a journey in pursuit of excellence, always with a great deal of humor and heart. Through my sharp intellect and incisive ability to see what others do not, I balance fierce candor with a warm heart.
My background in Psychology, Management and Group Dynamics at the University of Pennsylvania set the stage for a life focused on integrating the heart and the head, the human and the technological. With an overarching attention to the systems in any relationship system and business environment, my work has often led to the integration of ‘carbon & silicon” - seeing needs that could be met through the marriage of human and technical systems.
The Touchstone Method™ -- Focus | Clarity | Action | Touchstone -- is a constellation of my approach throughout my career to maximize effectiveness. My attention to systems evaluation, design, implementation, training and support have carried through nearly three decades of professional endeavor.
After more than a decade in Hospitality working with both soft and management systems, I moved into the technology realm in 1991. 1995 brought a new partnership and what would turn into a 14-year long exploration of the coach-approach brought to Internet Strategy and Web Development.
The "Dot Com" experience exposed me to the inner communication of hundreds of companies. That is where I recognized the need to help clients find balance: between technology and return on investment; between human resources and technological assets; between process improvement and culture-shock. I continue to look at the driving issues and the current conditions in the marketplace, and devise solutions based on a clear understanding of the two.
In seeking my own work-life balance, my 'coach approach' with clients led to my pursuit of Leadership, Executive & Life Coaching. I bring to my coaching a background as a trainer, manager, consultant, strategist, developer, creator, entrepreneur, integrator, and leader. I bring an in-depth knowledge of the world of business, crisp insights, and a personal understanding of the challenges of creating a meaningful life ... with balance.
I live in Atlanta with my wife, 2 daughters, 1 son and a dog (named Kat) in a Buckhead neighborhood we developed in 1994. A gold-medal rower in the 2004 Georgia State Games, and an avid long-distance cyclist, I enjoy exceptional wine, kick-boxing, movie quotes and great (often ‘punny’) jokes.
At Touchstone Coaching, I am living my values, finding the balance of work and life that is most effective for my family, and myself.
